Before writing about this fruit I knew about it but didn’t know that it is called a wood apple. Since I grew up in a Hindi household, we called it “Bel patthar” (stone on a vine) due to its tough shell. We literally used to drop from several floors to break it open. I never really liked it that well. It also has a weird taste and smell to it. It is like, work for it and then earn it. But it doesn’t turn out well always.
